About Estate Bid Finder

Independent. Operator-run. Built for the people who actually attend estate sales.

Our story

Estate Bid Finder was started by a small team of dealers, designers, and family executors who shared one frustration: the existing online estate-sale directories were optimized for the listing services that paid for top placement, not for the buyers actually trying to find a sale near them on a Saturday morning. Sales would appear on three different sites with three different sets of details. Out-of-date listings would clutter the front page. Photo galleries would load slowly or not at all. And the contact information for the actual estate liquidator running the sale was, more often than not, hidden behind a registration wall.

We started Estate Bid Finder to fix that. The directory you’re reading now is a curated, daily-updated index of household estate sales and on-site liquidation auctions across all 50 states. Every listing links directly to the licensed estate liquidator running the sale — no aggregator middleware, no upsells, no registration required to see the sale’s actual address.

What makes a sale eligible for the directory

To be listed on Estate Bid Finder, a sale must meet four criteria. First, it must be conducted by a licensed estate liquidator carrying current general-liability insurance — we re-verify these credentials annually and remove firms whose licenses lapse. Second, the sale must be open to the public, with a published address, dates, and hours. Third, the inventory must be tagged with at least one of our standardized item categories. And fourth, the sale must include actual estate contents — we exclude estate-themed warehouse sales, dealer consignment events, and pure auction-house galleries.

We don’t accept payment for placement. Sales that match our criteria are listed for free, ranked by sale date.

Editorial standards

Every category description, buyer’s-guide article, and pricing-guide entry on this site is written by a member of our editorial team with direct hands-on experience in the relevant collecting category. We do not publish AI-generated category text. We do not republish wire content. When we make a mistake — mis-categorize a sale, link to a stale listing, or get a hallmark wrong — we correct it publicly and update the corresponding article.

How we’re funded

Estate Bid Finder is funded by sponsored placement from estate liquidators (clearly labeled as such on every page where it appears), by referral commissions when we connect a family with a vetted estate liquidator through our consultation form, and by display advertising in clearly demarcated slots. We do not sell visitor data. We do not run pop-ups, interstitials, or any of the other patterns that have made too many directory sites unusable.
