Finding the right estate sale near you
Estate sales remain one of the best ways to acquire genuine American antiques, fine jewelry, sterling silver, mid-century modern furniture, and quality household goods at honest prices. Unlike auction houses with lengthy buyer’s premiums or retail antique shops with full markups, an estate sale is the source — an entire household’s contents, priced and sold by a professional liquidator over the course of a single weekend.
Our state directory groups every active sale by location so you can scan an entire region in one glance. Each state page shows the city, sale dates, item categories, and the estate liquidator running the sale. If you’re traveling, the state pages are especially useful for planning a multi-stop weekend route through estate sales in a region you don’t live in.
Most sales follow a predictable pricing arc: full price on day one (which is also when the rarest material is still available), 25% off on day two, and half-price or better on the final day. If you’re hunting a specific category — coins, sterling, or fine jewelry — the early hours of day one are usually critical. For furniture, mid-century pieces, or anything large and difficult to move, the later days often offer dramatic price reductions because the liquidator’s priority shifts toward emptying the home.
